## Background

The genesis of LingoAI was originally inspired by the Chief Fintech Officer of MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore), Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty, who raised the need for "data privacy and security when the government applies LLM for language localisation and translation”.

*At the WA Web3.0 Conference held in Perth in April 2023, Una Wang (Current founder of LingoAI) attended the conference on behalf of LanguageStory, and exchanged ideas with Mr. Mohanty about the localization of AI models in language translation. Mr. Mohanty suggested to Una that the central bank has a very huge amount of content which needs to be translated into other languages. However, the central bank won't use centralized AI such as OpenAI to do the translation of documents due to the content privacy and security. Meanwhile, the translated content can't be used directly either.*

## Team

The project boasts an expert team including professionals with diverse backgrounds in AI, blockchain, Web3.0 technologies. The core team hails from prestigious institutions including Stanford University, Peking University, Harvard University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Nanyang Technological University, JP Morgan and more.&#x20;

Additionally, an advisory board comprising industry experts who are from Regulatory Authority of Banking Institutions Singapore MAS, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Working Group on Generative AI, AI Scientist for MCC Research Lab's 5th Generation Computer Program provides strategic guidance and oversight.&#x20;

## Why are we building LingoAI?

### Challenges

Two key challenges in the current landscape of AI: Firstly, there is a significant lack of high-quality, contextually accurate translation and content creation in multiple languages and specialized technical domains. Secondly, existing AI models, while powerful, often fall short in capturing factual knowledge and performing common sense reasoning.

The datasets used to train different models often come from narrowly defined domains with limit languages, and models trained on this data may exhibit inherent biases. Collecting audio data is a significant hurdle as the largest available speech datasets currently encompass no more than 100 languages.

Today, over **7,000** languages are spoken globally, along with numerous dialects that are often underrepresented in training datasets, even for widely-spoken languages like English. This underrepresentation can lead to biases in model performance. Additionally, there are various tasks involving speech data such as speech-to-text translation, text-to-speech conversion, keyword spotting, and intent classification.&#x20;

### Our Solution

LingoAI's aim is to solve real-time cross-lingual communication barriers for **8,000,000,000** people around the world, preserving indigenous languages, and to rebuild the "Tower of Babel" in the AI era through AI x DePIN.

We innovatively integrate the Web3.0 and AI **MetaGraph** technology stack from the ground up. MetaGraph allows the large language model to combine with the knowledge graph and **multilingual RAG**, ensuring that large language models avoid generating hallucinations.&#x20;

# LINGOAI Tokenomics

Tokenized Data Economy

LINGOAI Token ($LINGOAI) is the native utility token of the LingoAI. The initial total LINGOAI supply is 100 billion. It encompasses the supply, distribution, utility, and governance to ensure a balanced and sustainable ecosystem.&#x20;

## Token Distribution

The 45% of total supply, 45 billion LINGOAI are for community rewards.&#x20;

## Incentive

Users are not only able to use a wider range of trusted AI products like LingoPod, but are rewarded with tokens in return through mining of contributing real corpus data including speech, text, video, image corpus and maintaining technical nodes.&#x20;

There are different roles in ecosystem. Any user in the ecosystem could place their role and be rewarded accordingly.

#### Miners

Ordinary users can register LingoCrowd or get a LingoPod to contribute data. Professional translators can proofread and validate data. Professional data manager can do the data annotation. Developers can assist enterprise or individual user to fine-tune AI models or privately deploy the model in a crowdsourcing way to earn LINGOAI.&#x20;

#### Node Providers

When all the earned or purchased LINGOAI tokens in the mining pool are sufficient for staking, they can stake and become node providers. Node providers can be node initiators or delegates, both of them will receive corresponding rewards.

## Utility

**Staking and Participation Commitment**

LINGOAI holders may optionally commit their tokens into protocol-governed staking contracts to support ecosystem operations. This commitment serves as a form of collateral to promote responsible participation and discourage dishonest behavior.

Users may delegate their tokens to node operators, who contribute data-processing resources. These operators are eligible to receive protocol-level rewards based on their verified contributions and uptime performance. No fixed or guaranteed returns are offered.

**Payment for Services**

LINGOAI tokens can be used within the ecosystem to access premium services, language data, or tools. Enterprises and public-sector users may also make purchases in fiat. Users who pay using LINGOAI tokens may enjoy preferential pricing compared to fiat-based services.

Data contributors will receive LINGOAI tokens as rewards based on the quality and quantity of their verified data contributions.

#### Governance

Governance is a cornerstone of the LingoAI ecosystem, empowering users to actively participate in the decision-making process. Users can submit proposals and vote on key topics including corpus data policies, incentive adjustments, and platform rules.

To submit a proposal, participants must place a refundable token deposit, which helps deter spam and low-quality suggestions. The deposit is returned upon successful approval of the proposal.

**LanguageDAO and Data Review Integrity**

To maintain quality assurance, LingoAI will launch a LanguageDAO tasked with overseeing community-led data review.

Members must place a reputation deposit of LINGOAI tokens to participate. If a DAO reviewer fails to complete tasks diligently or on time, their deposit may be partially or fully forfeited and redistributed to other active node contributors. This mechanism incentivizes accountability without offering financial return guarantees.

## Token Burn Mechanism

LingoAI Foundation will implement a structured token deflation mechanism. This involves regularly buying back and burning a portion of the utility tokens to reduce the total supply.&#x20;

**Profit Allocation for Buyback and Burn:** The LingoAI Foundation will allocate up to 30% of its quarterly profits for the purpose of buying back and burning tokens. Foundation will conduct token burns every quarter. To prevent excessive reduction in token supply and ensure long-term stability, the annual token burn cap will be set at 20% of the total initial supply.&#x20;


# LingoPod Rewards Programme

The total supply of mining with LingoPod is 16.5billion. There are several phase for users who can participate in.

## Phase 1 Incentive

#### LingoPod TestNet Beta (1st July 2024-30th July 2024): 100million LINGOAI Rewards Pool

The first 10,000 participants will have the opportunity to purchase an LingoPod (physical node) , and each node will receive an initial 10,000 LINGOAI points. Wallet address should be bounded after ordered. Users need deposit the LINGOAI points and receive 100 points per day, which will be unlocked after 7 days.

## Phase 2 Incentive

#### LingoPod Main-net Launch (1 August 2024 onwards)

*Stake 40,000 LINGOAI token*

*Receive 200-400 LINGOAI token per day*

*Staking Period: 12 months*

Each node should deposit 40,000 LINGOAI token to launch corpus mining. Users record and upload their speech corpus to receive 200-400 LINGOAI tokens. The exact number of mining tokens is according to the quality of the uploaded corpus. 50 tokens will be rewarded as a reward for using LingoPod every day. Miner can apply for unlocking the staking, T+7 refunded to the account after the expiration of staking period.

## Phase 3 Node providers Incentive

To form a mining pool, node providers need to gather 1,000 LingoPods. By staking 10 million LINGOAI tokens, the mining pool can achieve the status of a corpus contribution super node. These super nodes reap benefits from dividends across the entire network. Additionally, node providers gain early access to airdrops and earn rewards from corpus contributions and community services in later phases.

# Collateral

Collateral is not required for LingoPod rewards. However, if you choose to deposit collateral, you can receive different levels of rewards:

1. Option 1: No Collateral
   * Reward: 25% reward
   * Description: Miners can start mining without depositing any collateral. If there is no collateral, it will be counted as 0.25 work efficiency to receive the rewards.
2. Option 2: 8993000 $LINGOAI Collateral
   * Reward: Full reward
   * Description: Participants can choose to deposit 8993000 LINGOAI as collateral for one LingoPod. This will allow them to earn full reward for their efforts. The collateral can be withdrawn anytime after 30 days since the deposit, then the participant will be automatically switch back to Option 1.

Assuming a benchmark of 1,000 people and calculating based on the full reward, the total release in the first year will be 8,993,000 tokens. Each person will receive an average of 1,528,810 tokens. The annualized yield for each year will be 17%.

# LingoAI Referral Program

The LingoAI Referral Program is designed to encourage community-driven growth through real data contribution. Participants can earn LingoAI token rewards by referring new users.

## How the Referral Program Works

1. **Become a Referrer**\
   Any registered LingoAI user can generate a unique referral link and invite others to join the platform [LingoCrowd](https://crd.lingoai.io/).
2. **Invite New Contributors**\
   A referral is considered valid when the invited user registers through the referral link and participates in a LingoAI data project.
3. **Complete a Qualified Data Task**\
   The referred user must complete at least one data task, which includes but is not limited to:
   * Data contribution (e.g. speech, text, or other language data)
   * Data annotation or labeling tasks
4. **Verification and Approval**\
   All submitted data must pass LingoAI’s quality review process.\
   A referral is only deemed successful once the contributed or annotated data is reviewed and approved by authorized reviewers.

#### Referral Rewards

* For each **successful referral**, the referrer will receive **LingoAI tokens equivalent to USD 50**.
* Rewards are **cumulative**, and there is **no upper limit** on the number of successful referrals.
* Token rewards will be distributed after the referred user’s task has been approved.

#### Important Notes

* Only approved and qualified data contributions count toward referral rewards.
* LingoAI reserves the right to reject submissions that fail quality or compliance checks.
* Fraudulent activity, including self-referrals or abuse of the referral system, will result in disqualification from the program.
